landscape photography gear.

MPB - I always buy my gear used from MPB.com.

Squarespace (14-day free trial) - Build your own website EASILY through Squarespace (exactly like I did with this website). Save 10% off your first purchase of a website or domain using code "HENRYTURNER".

OM System OM-5 - I purchased this in August 2023 and I have quickly fallen in love with it! It has tons of features including built in ND filters, high-res shot mode and unbelievable image stabilisation (2sec handheld shots!).

Panasonic G Leica DG 12-60mm f/2.8-4 - This is the lens I use most on my OM-5 and I love it. the 12-60mm focal range suits me and if I need to zoom further I just use the OM-5’s digital teleconverter function.

Olympus M.Zuiko 7-14 mm F2.8 PRO - This is my beautiful wide angle lens for the OM-5. Stunningly sharp and easily one of the best lenses I’ve ever owned!

Nikon Z7 - I still love my Nikon Z7 and I have no plans on selling it. The image quality is the best I’ve ever used.

Nikon Z 14-30 f/4 - A stunning wide angle lens and the f/4 widest aperture is more than adequate for landscapes…and it’s so light!

Nikon Z 24-200 f/4 - f/6.3 - What a lens. Not only is it beautifully sharp, but the versatile focal range makes my job so much easier!

iFootage Gazelle TC6 - I don’t use my tripod as much anymore, because my OM-5 has such good image stabilisation, but this has been an absolute workhorse for me and it’s there when I need it.

Tripod Ball Head - The (almost) perfect ball head. I hated the Manfrotto clamp so I just replaced it with this cheap Harwerrel Arca Swiss Clamp from Amazon and I love it!

Mindshift Backlight 45L Photography Bag - Undoubtedly the best photography bag I’ve owned. A great size if you have a bit of extra gear like me - or to take a bit of extra food/clothing.

Mindshift Backlight 26L Photography Bag - Absolutely love this day bag for my landscape photography. Highly recommended.

EVOC Capture 7L Photo Hip Pack - This pack has completely revolutionised the way I shoot. I can head out with just this bag and no tripod - it’s so lightweight!

Peak Design Clip - The Peak Design Clip is a landscape photographer's best friend. It securely holds your camera while you explore, just like it does in my adventures featured on my YouTube channel!

NiSi Polarising Filter - Would never be without it.

NiSi 6-stop Filter - For long exposures.

NiSi 10-stop Filter - For longer exposures.

NiSi 15-stop Filter - For longerer exposures!

NiSi Filter Pouch - Fits all the above filters perfectly!

SmallRig L-Bracket for the Nikon Z7 - For me this is the perfect L-Bracket for my Nikon Z7

Nikon Remote Shutter - Essential for my long exposure photography.

Intervalometer - Great for long exposures, selfies and time lapses.

Insert for Hiking Bag - This is absolutely class, and essentially turns my hiking bag into a photography bag.

SanDisk 4TB Extreme PRO Portable SSD - Essential for photo and video back ups.

My Favourite Photography Guide Books - Absolutely brilliant for locational and compositional advice.

My Favourite ‘Less Known’ Photography Guide Books - Helped me so much along the way, and a little less popular than most.

Rainproof Camera Cover - Invaluable during those rainy days (almost always in the Lake District!).

K&F Step-Down Rings - Don't buy different size filters. Buy these rings to save some money!

video making gear.

DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo - This has become my main vlogging camera. Stop your research and buy this, it is incredible. I highly recommend the creator combo.

DJI Action Osmo 4 (Adventure Combo) - My secondary camera for outdoor vlogging, with its waterproofing, incredible gimbal-like stabilisation, low-light performance, and lightweight portability, it's perfect for my YouTube adventures.

Smallrig DJI Action 4 Camera Cage - This Smallrig Camera Cage elevates my DJI Action 4 for creative outdoor vlogging, offering extra accessory options and added protection.

Neewer Mini Tripod - Transforms my selfie stick into a hands-free monopod, making it a game-changer for B-roll and on-camera talks in my outdoor vlogs. It’s all so lightweight and faff-free!

DJI Mini 3 Drone Fly More Combo (DJI RC) - This one goes without saying really. Adds another dimension to my videos and, of course, it’s great fun to play with too! I love having the screen on the RC too - so much easier!

Rode VideoMicro Microphone - Perfectly suited for my OM-5 if I need it for video. Fantastic audio quality even in windy scenarios - also great for capturing those ever important ambient sounds!

DJI Mic 2 - The DJI Mic 2 is the audio solution that perfectly complements my outdoor vlogs, ensuring crystal-clear sound quality in the wild (and great in windy conditions too).

iMac 2020 27” 5K Retina Screen - This is my workhorse and I feel very privileged to have such a beast of a machine for my video/photo editing. It was a nervy investment in September 2020 but one I’d do in a heartbeat if I went back.

MacBook Pro 2022 M2 13-inch - My trusted companion for editing and uploading my YouTube videos on the road, delivering top-notch performance and portability for my content creation needs.

Samsung X5 SSD - Quite like my iMac, this was quite a lot of money to spend in one go (for me) but it’s worth its weight in gold. Extremely fast for moving files and I use this as my main video editing SSD (it’s faster than my iMac’s!).

outdoors gear.

Rab Microlight Alpine Down Jacket - This has actually proved one of my most important purchases to date. Warm, comfortable and ultimately increases my chances of actually getting out on location in cold conditions - which is priceless.

Rab Mythic Ultra Down Jacket - The absolute ultimate for winter warmth. Honestly, this is probably overkill most of the time but I love it!

Zamberlan Vioz Plus GTX Walking Boots - Hands down the best pair of walking boots I’ve ever owned. Use the Zamberlan Hydrobloc Waterproof Cream regularly to ensure dry feet. Unreal!

Osprey Aether AG 70 Hiking Bag - Researched for months for this. Love it! Also has a dedicated section at the bottom that fits my ICU for all my camera gear.

Platypus Water Filter and Reservoir - Ensures clean hydration in the great outdoors for my photography adventures and saves me lugging around litres of water with me on my hiking adventures.

Olight Perun 2 Head Torch - Essential if hiking to or from a location in the dark. I use the ‘Perun’ model from Olight which is incredibly bright and I’ll never use another brand.

Paramo Alta III Waterproof Jacket - Again, another incredibly important piece of kit that increases my chances of getting outside in those beautifully moody conditions. Essential for the UK. Love the Paramo brand and fully trust their waterproofing abilities (tried and tested!).

Paramo Cascada II Waterproof Pants - Same as my waterproof jacket - one word - essential! Love these and, again, Paramo all the way.

Nemo Fillo Camping Pillow - This pillow is my compact comfort solution in the great outdoors, ensuring I get a good night's rest during my landscape photography expeditions!

Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite Sleeping Mat - This amazing sleeping mat is my secret to restful nights in the wilderness, offering unmatched comfort and insulation for my landscape photography journeys - it is so warm!

Jetboil Stove - Light, simple, boils water quickly… awesome!

Trangia Mini Cookset - The Trangia Mini Cookset is a compact powerhouse in my outdoor photography setup, providing reliable cooking options to fuel my adventures.

My Vallerret Photography Gloves - Simply the best brand of gloves I’ve ever used for photography. I have 2 pairs, the Ipsoot and the Markhof Pro 2.0.

Montane Trail Running Waterproof Jacket (Very Lightweight) - This is fantastic for stuffing into the bottom of my bags meaning I’m always prepared when the weather turns sour!

Montane Trial Running Waterproof Pants (Also Very Lightweight!) - Same as above!
